Course Objective

Upon completion of the course, the participants will understand the basic requirements of each Annex of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution From Ships (MARPOL), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Vessel General Permit (NPDES – VGP) and U.S. and international ballast water management (BWM) regulations; the ramifications if the requirements are not followed; and, have references to stay up to date on changes to each area of law and regulation.
